횡파는 용수철이 좌우로 진동할 때 용수철의 진행방향과 파동의 진행방향이 서로 수직이 되면서 생기는 파동이다.

Transverse waves occur when the direction of the spring is perpendicular to the direction of the waves when the spring is vibrating sideways.
