분수의 물줄기는 하나로 이어진 것처럼 보이지만 1초에 수백 번에서 수천 번까지 깜빡이는 불빛으로 분수의 물줄기를 비추어 보면 분수의 물방울들이 마치 춤추듯이 움직이는 재미있는 현상을 발견하게 된다. 불빛의 시간 간격과 물방울 사이의 시간간격이 같으면 물방울이 정지해 보이고, 불빛의 시간이 물방울 사이의 시간간격보다 빠르면 물방울이 위로 올라가는 것처럼 보이며 반대의 경우 물방울이 아래로 떨어지는 것 같이 보인다.

The flow of a fountain seems to be a single sheet of water but illuminating it with lights flashing hundreds of times per second shows the fun spectacle of the fountain’s water drops moving as if dancing. The water drops appear to be at a halt when the time interval of the lights and the time interval between water drops is the same, and water drops seem to be going up when the time interval of the lights is shorter than that between the water drops, while the opposite results in the water drops appearing to drop down.
