왜 그럴까요?
Why?

해파는 바닷물 표면에서 생기는 주기적인 파동운동을 말한다. 해저 지진의 발생이나 해저 화산의 폭발로 해저 지각에 갑작스러운 충격이 가해지면, 그로 인해 해수면의 높이에 급격하게 변화가 일어나 파장이 매우 긴 파동이 형성된다. 이 파동이 해안가로 몰려오면 해일이 발생한다.

Sea waves are regular wave movements that occur on the surface of sea water. When there is a sudden impact to the oceanic crust due to underwater earthquakes or volcanic eruption, the sea level changes rapidly, which leads to the formation of very long waves. Tidal waves occur when these waves gather at the coast.
