센서는 사람이 감각기관을 통해 주위 환경이나 대상을 인지하는 것처럼 기계나 로봇이 주위 환경을 인지하게 해주는 것이다. 온도, 습도, 가스, 속도, 초음파 센서부터 맥박, 호흡, 혈압 등을 측정하는 바이오 센서가 있으며 이러한 센서는 로봇에 들어가 사물인터넷을 가능하게 한다.

Sensors allow machines or robots to perceive the surrounding environment as sensory organs allow people to perceive the surrounding environment or objects. Sensors measure temperature, humidity, gas and speed. Ultrasonic sensors measure pulse, respiration, blood pressure, etc., and make IOT possible placed in robots.
